ANNUAL MEETJNG (# ACCIDENT ASSUEANCji SOCIETY.

-MASTERTON, March 10. v The sixteenth annual meeting of the United Fire Brigades' Accident Assurance Society was held here this morning. There was a. full attendance of delegates representing the fire brigades and fire police. President Boyes occupied -the" chair. The president's report showed an increase in funds airing the year of £154, bringing up the credit balance of the Society to .£1321. It was resolved to amend the" rules in several respects, among others to amend rule' 29, respecting the dissolution of the Society, to provide for the payment of a sum not exceeding £40, instead of £20, into a benefit, fund at the end of the year, after- liabilities; are provided for. The-hew rule added that bona fide messengers of brigades he admitted as members, for the full risks only in the accident society. The election of officers resulted :r-President, Captain King; vice-presidents, Captain Jenkins '(Masterton) and Captain Spriggens ("VYangamii); secretary, Mr. James Gilberd. This concluded the business.
MABTERTON, March 10. To-day was an off-day at the Fire .brigade Conference, ro business bein/>----transacted'. The delgeates were taken for a drive down -the Lower Valley and back.
