MISS MARIE LLOYD'S CONTRACT.

JUDGE FINDS BARRING CLAUSE IS

NOT BINDING

Miss Marie Lloyd, the well-known music-hall artiste, appeared in court at Glasgow to answer an application on behalf of Moss's Empires to interdict her from continuing to appear at the Glasgow Pavilion. It was urged that she was bound at a salary of £130 not to appear in Glasgow until October 1908. Her defence ■was that the ".profession was notoriously lax in business matters." Tho agent for the applicants incidentally mentioned that Mr-. Harry Lauder was bound to them until 1914.

The judge refused to grant the interdict, as the .agreement, he said, was one-sided and unreasonable.
