FATAL FALL DOWN STAIRS.
PAHIATUA, June 10
A man named John Beaufort, a surveyor, was found by two men at the foot of a staircase at about 10 o'clock on Saturday night, he evidently having fallen down the stairs. He was conveyed to the Hospital and the doctor was summoned, but the man died at eight o'clock on Sunday morning. The deceased leaves three grown-up sons here, his wife and two children being in America and another in Australia. An inquest is being held.
