Mr. J. McEldowney's establishment was broken into during Monday night or Tuesday morning, and a large quantity ot Avearing apparel stolen. The thief or thieves obtained a ladder from the park belonging to the Fire Brigade and gained access- through an open window in the top storey at tho back ot the premises. They made their way through the workroom, then down one of.-the pillars in the boot department and out- by the back door. Both front and back doom were found open. ,'Evidently tho thieves were disturbed in their work, as a quantity of goods were found lying about the 'back door entrance. Shirts, trousers,' ties^'and silk handkerchiefs comprised the booty. The police are endeavouring to get on the track of the "burglars. Thero was a good attendance at the Methodist Church on iMonday night, when la large quantity of fruit and produce was disposed of.- - ' _ The Marton bowlers will visit Wan-
