RAETIHI NOTES.

On Friday last the men at the metal pit on Pflirapara road, who were receiving Is. per 'hour, struck for 9?. for eight hours, land as a result on the Saturday all the drivers of th& teams metalling had 4o load their own drays1. The engineer in. charge, however, succeeded in replacing them with others, and the work will'now go on as usuml. On Wednesday, November 28. the Waimarino County Council held the'.r annual meeting to elect a chairman, and Mr. Peter Brass was again elected. Mr. Morton, councillor for the Karioi riding, handed in hiis resignation, _ wvfclf1 regret, as he is leaving the district. A wedding will take place very shortly between two well kniown residents of Raetihi. ,
A bazaar will be held in tlia Town Ha.ll, Raetihi,' on Wednesday and Thursday, December 12 and 13, in connection with the Anglican Church. Among the various attractions eonr.ccted with the same, there will be a bachelors' bread-baking competition, wfeight-giiess&ng oompetitons, foa-tune-telling. baby show, and other entertainments. Luncheon and afternoon tea will be provided.
