Bishop Lenihan (Roman Catholic), -Bishop of Auckland, was in town last week on his way to Christchurch to visit the Exhibition.
Mr. and Mrs. Frank Lundon (Master ton) aire in town, the guests of Mr. and Mk3. Lundius (Wikon. street), and! intend spending Christmas with Mr. Lundius- people in B-ctorua. Mrs. G. TV Stewart land Mrs. John and Miss Bidwell were in town last week. They left by Saturday's river boat for Pipiriki, where they spent the week end, returning on Monday, and\ left by the express on Tuesday, en route for "Wellington, whete they intend hearing Dolores before returning home. 'i'he Vicar (Rev f T. B. Maclean) has been spending a quiet time-at- Pipiriki, where he has been resting. He returned home yesterday, I hope greatly benefited by the change. Mrs. McCabe (Wellington), wlio, with her little baby daughter, has been on an extended visit to Mr. and Mrs. J. Foster (Ingeatre street), left with Mr. McCabe by the express for Wellington yesterday. Mrs. (Dr.) Collins, of Wellington, is at present on a visit to Wanganui. Mrs. O'Meara (Opunake) is on a visit to her parents, Mr. ard Mrs. Dempsey, Mossftown. ' She returns" hom'a next week. , -~
Ma*. Kraeft (Napier) has been visiting Wanganui, and was the guest of Mr. and Mrs. Edward How©"( Bell street).
Mrs. George Howe (Palmerstqn) was in town.this week, and stayed with Mr. and Mrs. Edward Howe also.
Miss Walker (Mouclt Eden, Auckland) is on a- visit to her1 sister.. Mis. Lesl c Wai'kei- (Wilson street). She lias just returned from a, delightful holiday in Christchurch, and, of-course, visited the Exhibition.
Miss Harrop (Christehureli) is visiting her sri^ter, Mrs. Preston, Makirikiri. ' .
Miss Nome (Auckland) is the guest of Mr. arid Mrs. A. Higgie. The river picnic given in honour of visiting delegates to the Builders' Conference took place on Thursday las*. A great number of invitations ware issued, and the day was an ideal one for picor-iaing. The visitors were delighted with bur river, and the way they had been entertained during their visit.
