The " Daily News' " Durban correspondent states that Captain iMacfarlane, particulars of whose death "were cabled on June 11th last, was accidentally 'killed by a bullet fired by la colonial on the other side of the gorge -which separated them. Lieut. tMarshen, of ■Houston's Horse, who was mortally wounded on the same occasion, was shot in a mist, being mistaken for a rebel in the semi-darkness.
