HORTICULTURAL SOCIETY.
A general meeting of the Committee was held last evening. Present—iMr A. A. Gower (President, in the chair), Mr Sewell, Misses -Hardcastle and Bayley, 'Messrs F. Walker, Garett, F. R. Field, Speiuvng, Gower, jun., Laird, Babbage, G. Smith, and Holloway (secretary). DATE OF AUTUMN SHOW.—It was resolved that the President and Secretary ba deputed to change the date of the Show if necessary, but that present dates be adhered to if possible. JUDGES.—Judges for the different classes were appointed. CLASS STEWARDS.—The appointment of all stewards mentioned in the schedule were confirmed, with the following . alterations: —Decoration arid children's classes (first day), Mesdaanes John Anderson, J. Stevenson, and W. Woon be asked to act.. School classes: Mrs Holloway and Miss Minifie, with power to add. Vegetables and Fruit: Mr F. R. Feild's name was added to the list. Preserves: Miss McMurray's name was added.
Steward for outside exhibits: Mr F Walker.
General Supervisor: Mr George Smith with Mr J."'H. Morgan as assistant. /Decorations: Messrs Garrettj Hutton, Lockhart (convener), J. H. (Morgan, and F. R. Feild.
Refreshments: President and Secretary to arrange. Sweet Stall.; Misses Dodgshun and Barnicoat.
Entertainment: Messrs Gnrrett and D. Hutton.
NEW (MEMBERS.—Mr Fred Rutherford, Mrs Barnard Brown, and Mr J. H. Clay were elected. •" OHRYSANTHEMTTM SHOW.—The following were appointed a committee to arrange schedule and other details, with power to act: —The President and Messrs F. Walker, G. Smith, Laird, and 'Holloway. A vote of thanks to the chair concluded the meeting.
