Sir, —In looking over your loader of to-day's date I note you say that it is by the request of the Leader of the Opposition that Mr'Bassett is now standing as a candidate fed* the Wanganui seat. lam afraid you have let your imagination run away with your better judgment when you.make such ia statemerit. .My personal knowledge of Mr Massey is such as would dead me to say that he cianriob possibly be guilty of such duplicity.—l am, etc., F.
