MELBOURNE, November 18

The stonewall adjourned at midnight on Saturday till 10.30 on Monday morning. At 11 p.m. Mr Reid announced that the Opposition intended to leave the at midnight to allow the Government to do as it liked.

Mr Deakin said he h*d already sent a message to Mr Reid that the Government did not intend to ■ sit after midnight, hut as this was refused they would resume after the Sabbath was past and continue till the Government resolution was carried. Either the business would have to be done or another Government appointed.

Mr Raid replied that he had not received Mr Deakin's message.
