DUNEDIN, November 19. An inquest was held on Saturday touching 'the death of Alfred Lavreon Price, killed by -being run into by a train while riding a motor bicycle. The evidence showed that the warning bell at. Kensington was set going as soon .as the tram left Oavorsham, and the droasihg keener showed a red light in each direction. Deceased was seen riding in the direction of the 'crossing just ab'pub midnight a.t a high rate of speed,, and it is supposed ho attempted to cross before the train, and, seeing the danger when the engine was on Jr'in, swerved to tlhe right, the engine stirking the rear wheel. Mr Hanlon, who appeared for the relatives of the deceased, questioned the driver of the train with a view to showing that the tablet system interfered with his giving proper attention ro the line ahead and to the Westinghonse brake. He said h© did not blanie fhe driver,'who was a careful man, but the tablets should be taken automat/ic-ady. The jury returned a verdict that the deceased -was killed 'by an accidental fall from a motor bicycle, but there was .i;ot sufficient evidence to show how the .sodden t occurred.
