Twenty-five pairs took part in the above match on the Balgownie Links on Friday afternoon. After some closegames the victory lay with the Wanganui Club, who won by the small majority of four points. The following hard-fought games were played : —Mrs Cleghom 3 v. Bates 0, Miss Cave 5 v >D'Arcy 0 v Miss Jackson 3 v. Jones 0, Miss Stanford 3 v. Brown 0, Miss Cow<per 4 v. Goodwin 0, Miss O. Stanford 3 v. Johnson 0, Miss Taylor 0 v. Dyer 0, Mrs Savjeant 1 v. Greenwood 0, Mrs Innes 1 v. Fenwick 0, Mrs Izard 7 v. 0, Miss Darley 5 v. Stevenson 0. These successes of the ladies, however, were more than counter-balanced by the victories of Messrs Orford, Hardwicke, Ja-rdine, Dalgety, Vowles, Armour, Low, Hogg, Clissold, Allison, and Taylor. / , :
