BIG BLAZE AT AUCKLAND

AUCKLAND, September 17. A destructive firo occurred at the Parnell Orphans' Home at 8 o'clock this morning. Tho Boys' and Girls' dormitories, tho matron's quarters, the dispensary, workroom, etc., were complete ly destroyed. The firo originated in the workroom, but no reason oan be assigned, as there was no, fire or light theie since Thursday. The room was perfectly safe at 7.30 a.m. The insurance on tho buildings and contents was £1675 in tho New Zealand office. The nurseries, kitchen, school, and other buildings had a narrow escape.
