MEN BLOWN INTO FRAGMENTS

Tho worst scone was on the second deck, where the majority were trying, to extinguish the flames. Here most of the casualties happened. Men were blown into fragments hundreds of yards iiito the water, which was crimsoned. A largo percentage were scalded to death and unidentifiable. Many were below battling with the flames when the Mikasa foundered. The report of the explosion resounded among the far distant, hills.
