IMPROVEMENTS AT TRENTiHAM

WELLINGTON, September 12
The Government has approved of the scheme drawn up by Lieut.-Col: Collins for improving* the Ttrentham rifle range in such a way as to permit of the annual shooting competition being more expeditioasly carried out to the north of the present -range. The neAV range is to be constructed to carry twenty targets, available for shooting up to 600 yards. On the southern side long range butts, carrying 24 targets, AA'ill be made. These Avill only be required for shooting at 800, 900, and 1000 yards. Provision will also »be made for a .range for cadets, by these improvements ninety targets Avill be available, and 900 men will be able to shoot together.
