NAPIER, September 5. At the inquest on the body of the man named John Hyland, found dead at tho Albion Hotel, the jury returned r, verdict of suicide.

AUCKLAND, September 6. A determined suicide occurred at Helensralle, where a farm labourer named Duncan, shot himself. He went into the titrce, taking his employer's shot gun, which he placed over his heart. He pushed the trigger with a stick. The affair was discovered when deceased was missed, and a search instituted.
