WELLINGTON WOOL, SHEEPSKIN, AND HIDE SALES.

Murray, Roberts and Co. report as follows:—■

We offered 60 bales wool, 1500 sheepskins, and 300 hides, besides: a few oddments of tallow, at our sale to-day. Buyers were a-eluctant to pay up to value lately ruling owing no doubt to the fear that the declaration of peace will adversely affect the market for .crossbreds, and prices must be quoted fully a farthing to halfpenny per lb. lower for wool and skins. Hides sold readily at pieces slightly in excess of last sale, while tallow ruled on a par with recent prices. We quote :— Wool.-^-Crossibred stragglers' oddments 7£d to 8£ per lb., crutchings good 6id to 7d per lb., crutchings inferior 4|d to sfd per lb. Skins.- —Merinos and halfbreeds; 7d to S^d, crossbredjS_fine 7£d to B|d per lb, crossibreds medium to coarse 7^d to Bd, hoggets ' and lambs 6£d to B^d orossbreds inferior pelts 5d to 7d per lb. Hides.—Medium ox 18s 6d to 22s 6d, light ox 15s to 18s, medium to heavy ■cow 15s to 20s 6d, light cow 13s 6d to 15s, stags and bulls 13s 6d to 20s, calf Is 9d to 5s 3d.

Tallow.—Tins to 17s, casks 19s 9d per cwt.
