The Council met at 2.30 p.m
Sir Maurico O'Rorke gave notice to move that the Council approve of a return to the provincial sjstem of Government.
Tho Council adjourned to present the tho Adt'ress-in-Reply ito the Governor, and upon resuming the Attorney-Gen-eral moved the second reading of the Criminal Code Bill, received from the •other Chamber, providing for extension to six months of time within which information of offences against young girln must bo laid. After discussion, the, Bill was read a second time and referred to the Statutes Revision Committee.
The Evidence Bill (a consolidating measure) and the Property Law Bill, introduced by the Attorney-General, were read a second time, the latter being referred to the Statutes Revision Committee.

The Labour Bills Committeo was granted fourteen days' extension of time to report on the Shops and Offices Bill.
FLOUR DUTY ABOLITION
Mv Hogg; moved to introduce a Flour Duty Abolition Bin, and discussion on it occupied tho whole sitting. Mr. Seddon announced that the Government had been advised that Natal had. imposed a duty of one penny per pound on frozen meat and cattle for slaughter. Hitherto there had been no chit • on tlieso lines.
OLD AGE PENSIONS
Th.i House resumed at 7.30. Tho Old Ago Pensions Bill was considered in committee.
After some additional clauses had been added to the Bill, the House rose.
