DEATH TO THE CALVES

MYSTERIOUS CATTLE DISEASES

IN TARANAKI

Per Press Association. STRATFORD, July 14. The Taranaki Government veterinarian has been advised that a mysterious disease has appeared on certain farms within a radius of 2£ miles at Kaimate, near Inglewood. In three years 2000 calves' deavhs occurred. One farmer this year has already lost 37 calves. Captain Young, veterinary, has gone to investigate. When interviewed he could give no information about the disease, which differs from those the Department is usually called upon to deal with. Ho expects his investigations will occupy about ten days.
