U.B.C. SOCIAL The 'annual smoke concert and presentation of prizes in connection with tihe U.B.C. was held last evening in Dustin's rooms, and passed off very successfully. Captain ■ Biairton, wiho occupied the ehadr, in the unavoidable absence of Mr. F. M. Spundie (president), had quite a busy evening in presenting the n»any. trophies won during the season. A notable feature of the evening was the presentation of the champion blazers won by Messrs Webb iand ween, at Welling, ton. The recipients were neartily congratulated . . Apologies were received from Messrs Spurdle (president), Wrav W.R.C.), Benefield (A.R.C.) and 'Slide. The long Just of winners, both at Regatta and club races went to. £how that the U.B.C ihave_4>very reason to be satisfied with their doings, for last season. The 'boast list was as follows:^—I">H'is Majesty the King," "N.Z. A.R.A.," proposed by Mr Williams, and responded to by Mr. 'Powell; "Sister Clubs," (Gapfcaan Barton), responded to by Messrs. Tilley (W.R.C.), Park (A.R.C.)r "Winning Club'Crews,','l (Mr. O. 'Gray), responded to by Messrs. Dixon land-Corby; "Re-; gatta Grews," - (Captain Batrton), responded to by Messrs. Sharpe and Thompson; "Press," (Mr Swanger), responded to by representatives present; "Starter," (Mr. Hamilton) responded to by Mr. Gray; "Laddes," (Mr Thompson), responded to by Mr Gray. A very enjoyable evening was brought to a close about 11 o'clock.
