The Orange demonstration at the Town Hall adopted a resolution deprecating the effort now being made to induce the Federal Parliament to adopt a recommendation in. favour of Homo. Rulo for Ireland.
Iron rafts, thrown overboard from tho Pilbarra when she, was disabled off tho New Hebrides, have drifted,to the Fly River, in New Guinea, <a distance of over 2000 miles, in three months. The Colonial Sugar Company has reduced prices £1 per ton. The Labour Conference adopted as planks' in its fighting platform the ix?aintenance of a "White Australia," nationalisation of monopolies, old age pensions, a tariff referendum, a progressive tax on unimproved land values, *»striction of public borrowing, the Navigation Laws, a citizen defence force, and Arbitration Act amendment.
Tho Conference also passed resolutions in favour of tile instead of the giving of a bonus to the iron industhry^ and protested against theq importation of ppium, except for medicinal purposes. ' PERTH, July 13. The State Labour' Conference adopted resolutions in favour of the aboli>ion of the Upper House and of the Governors, also- a tax on unimproved land values^ '
