DEFENCE CADETS.

The following conditions have been drawn up for a, shooting competition, which is to take place to-day (Thursr day) and Saturday afternoons, the 13th iand 15th instant, for a pair of military hair brushes, very kindly donated to tho company by Captain Battle of the Fire Brigade :—Ranges 200 yards, seven shots and one sighter (optional), firstclass target. Shooting commences at 2 o'clock sharp. The following are the handicaps :—Captain Forder, scratch ; Color-Sergeant Tuffnell, Sergeant-Bug-lev Remington, Corporals Williams and Soler, and Lance-Corporal Copeland, 2 points; Lieutenant Moore and LanceSergeant Botton, 3; Sergeant Boyle and Corporal Bevege, 4; Sergeant Vincent, Corporal Dunstall, Lanoe-Corpl. Kench, volunteers Powell and Porteous, 5; Sergeants Haase and Galvin, Drum-Major Arthur, Lance-Corporal Titshall, Bugler Burnett, Volunteers Taw.se, Naylor, S. Kench, and A. Smith 6; Lieutenant Beavis, Corporal-Bugler Boyle, Volunteers Hindley, McAlister, "IV. Arthur, Beaumont, V. Smith, Trainor, Hodgson, McGonagle, O'Brien, Remington, Fargie, and Parker, 7; Bugler Lundius, Volunteer Robson, Drummer Townsend, Volunteers Rose, Annabell, Beck, and W. Gerrie, 8; Buglers Soler and Swan, Volunteers Healey, Coates, Lawson, Dust, and Slight, 9; remainder of company, 10 points. A match will take place to-day and Saturday between teams of ten from tlv» Defence Cadets and School Cadets. .The range has been fixed for 200 yards, seven shots and" a sighter (optional), firing to commence at 2 o'clock sharp. The following Thursday team will represent the Defence Cadets-.—Bugler-Sergeant Remington, Sergeant Boyle, Sergeant Vincent, Lance-Sergeant Botton, Corporal Williams, Corporal Soler, Drum-Major Arthur, Lance-Corporal Copeland, Volunteers W. Hogg and Porteous.
