Mr. and Mrs. J. D. Greig and family left for Auckland on Saturday. Mrs. Allan; widow of the late.Rev. J. M. Allan, for many years Presbyterian Minister at Stirling (Otago), died at Milton last week. Mrs Allan was in bpr seventy-third year. ■ . Mi. B. Dewsbury, an old resident of Christchuroh, died' on Thursday, aged sixty-seven years. He was a brother of the Rev. H. R. Dewsbury, Methodist Minister at Christ-church, and late of Wamganui. ~ Edwin Holmes, associate . statistician ait "Washington to the U.S. Agricultural Department, has, been dismissed for juggling the 'Government's cotton crops reports to suit the purposes of market manipulators, by the communication of information to Theodox-e Price and other brokers. Price denies a-eceiving any information from Holmes.
