Thero was again brilliant weather and a good wicket. The attendance was fair.

The Australians, who had scored 513 for the loss of six yesterday, continued their first innings. Gregory, who was not out with 105 to his credit, resumed batting with Gehrs (not out 34). The former, after adding 29, was taken at the wickets after batting 105 minutes. He hit one six and 20 tourers.—Seven for 562. Gehrs played a faultless innings, and his runs were obtained by hard driving. Ho was eventually bowled by Persse after making 51.—Eight for 598. Cotter played Persse on to his wicket. Ho was at the wickets only 25 minutes and hit a sixer and seven fourers, but his innings was marred by two chances.—Nino for 612. Howell was dismissed by an easy catch at mid-otf, and the innings, which had occupied ten minutes short of six I 1 ours, terminated for 020 runs. Hampshire* started badly. The first three wickets fell in quick succession, the third going for 26. Jephson was dismissed by a wonderful low falling catch by Hill at first slip.
