PARIS, July 7

' A French submarine sank at Bizerta with 13 members of the crew. The accident was owing to faulty valves. The captain and two of thd crew -were in the conning tower, and were thrown overboard and saved. Divers, hearing cries in the interior of the vessel, sought help, with the result that the submarine was refloated, and all were saved, having sought refuge in the central watertight compartment.
