LONDON WOOL SALES.

WELLINGTON, July 6. Tho Department of Industries and Commerco has received the following cablo from the High Commissioner, dated London s:—
The wool sales have commenced, 68,----4UC bales of New Zealand wool being available. There are plenty of buyers, and great competition. America is buying freely. Coarse crossbreds of all grades have advanced one penny, and line merino crossbreds of all grades one halfpenny per lb. on closing rates of last sale" Tho market is firm at an, advance. Manufacturers have very little stock.
WELLINGTON July 6. Messrs. Dalgety and Co. s London office cables under date 4th July:—
Tho wool sales opened to-day with a largo attendance of buyers. Compete tion is very animated, and fair selees! tion. Prices are higher for merino, woola in general by 5 per cent. Fine and medium crossbred prices are on the average from par to 5 per ceiit. higher than closing rates of last series, while coarse crossbred wools are on the averago 10 per cent, higher. There are several American, buyers in the markets.
