The N.Z. Loan and Mercantile Agency Co. report—^During the week sales have ibeen held at Hunterville, Apiti, and Palmerston, and clearing sales of dairy stock on behalf of Messrs Martin and J. Lewis.
At Hunterville tihere was a1 small yarding of cattle and a number of unibroken horses. Prices realised were good, and a total clearance was effected. At Apiti very few sheep came forward, but there Teas a heavy yarding of cattle. Prices all round "were slightly better,
and practically the whole yarding was quitted. At Palmerston there was a good entry of cattle, stock coming forward considerably in excess of advertised numbers, thie bulk beino: sold at satisfactory ■prices. There was a better demand for good 'weaners. At Mr Martin's dairy sale cows sold well, making \vo to £8 ss. At Mr Lewis's sale of coiws there was a small attendance, and a poor sale resulted, the cows making a very low average.
Quotations :— Hunterville.—2-year iheifers £4, 15----month heifers £2 10s, 2iHyear steers £4 ss. Horses: Yearlings 30s, 2-year-olds £3 1&, others £3 10s to £4 2s 6d. Apiti.—Cattle: Weaners 17s 6d to 27s Cd, yearlings (small) 30s to 38s, yearling steers £2 to £2 ss, yearling heifers £2 3s, 15-month steers £2 6s 6d to £2 10s, 18-month steers £2 14s 6d to £3 2,s 6d, 2^-year steers £4, 2-year -heifers £2 10s to £3, store cows £2 10s to £2 16s, cows and .calves £3 5s to £3 10s, fat cows £4 15s.
Palmerston. —Weaners 18s to 30s, yearlings £2 3s 6d to £2 10s, store cows £2 5s to £3. fat cows £4 5s to £5 ss, cows with calves £3 3s to £3 10s, 2-year steers £2 16s to £3 Bs, 3-year steers £3 19s.
