TIMARU, December 3. The first wool sale of the season open©d hero yesterday morning with a catalogue of 5844 bales. The wool came forward in good condition, and voting buyers expressed appreciation of the exo&l----l'ont'-way in which it was displayed in t'bo 'wool stores. Representatives of Heading Home and Continental manufacturers were- present, and the colonial miilla were wttfi represented. The sale went well from start to finish, and practicailly every lot was disposed of. The keenect demand was for hailfbreds and •crossbreds, which brought up to ll^d. The general prices ran as follows: —■ Super half-bred lOd to ll|d, medium to 9£d to lOd, inferior ditto B£d to 9^d. Crcssbreds sold .at from par to a halfpenny lower than halfbreds. Merino said at from 9^d to 10^d, but there was ltttfle offering, for bellies and pieces highest price was B|d.
