A VENEZUELA OUTRAGE
BRITISH PROSPECTORS KILLED

CARACAS, December 2
A Venezuelan officer and some soldiers seized 14 British igotd miners and prospectors who were working considerably within Bavtish territory, arid near the newly demarcated Guiana boundary, and killed the fifteenth in attempting to ■escape. The fourteen . suffered ' great hardships. They were imprisoned: at Santa. Cataflina, and treated as common feillons. General Cyprlano Castro, the Venezuelan President, courteously received the secretary of the Georgetown Institute of Mines, and i*elea»ed the prisoners.
Britain has opened an inquiry into the incident. Venezuela has agreed to a joint'commission to ascertain definite^ the locality of the outrage.
