Wanganui River Trust.
In answer to urgecnt telegrams sent by the Mayor and the Chairmen of the Chamber of Commerce sauL the River Trust Board to the Premier and Sir Joseph Ward, the forme!1 haye been notifrctl that the amount required by the Trust to continue the river improvement wanks will be provided at once, and a further appropriation-will-be-placed on the Public Works Estimates. Our readers wall remember that Mr. T. D. Cummins (chairman--of the Rivea- Trust) reported at the last meeting of the Board that the works had been stepped owing to no money being avaftanlc. Now that a favourable reply .ha® /been received, it is intended to push on with all speed with the improvement of the channel as fan*'as Taumaranui. so as to connect with the main trunk lino.
