ALEXANDRA MOUNTED RIFLES
The annual dlay's shooting of the above corps was held on Friday, May 15, to decide the winners of the Wyllie Memorial Trophy and Championship Belt. The morning was wet, and unfortunately delayed the shooting, so that the last range .(700yds.) had to be fined on.Saturday morning, when a stiff gale was blowing, making the shooting at that range very difficult. Private Chifiholm, who was leading up to that range, broke down, and the winners turned up to be: For the Wyllie Memorial, Private Guscott; and for the Championship Belt, Lieut. Morrison.. Private Jones, the winner of both trophies last year, was very much out of form, and did not get a pla«e. The following are the scores—Private Guscott 132; Lieut. Morrisoa 129, Private Crawley 128, Sergt. Sommerville 127, Private Ohisholm 126, Private O'Neill 123, Captain SommerviUe 118, Private Jones 113, Corpl. Symes 109, Corpl. Brown 107 Sergt. Dymook 104, Sergt. Crawley 103, Private Wright 103, Private Ross 87, Private Mulhns 85, Private Ashton 82, Lieut. Comeron retired, Private J. Crawley s', Lieut. Blair retired.
