PROPOSED SPECIAL LOAN OF £70,000 "i HEREBY Convene a Meeting of the X Electors of the Borough of Wanganui, to be held on FRIDAY, the 24th day of October, 1902, at the Council Chambers, St. Hill Street, Wiuiigamii, to consider and discuss the following pro,piosal of the Council : —. - ■ THAT the Council take steps to raise, by wav of Special Loan under the provisions of "The Municipal Corporations Act, 1900," the sum of £70,000, to be applied as follows— (a)For constructing -'Waterworks" (as defined by section 287 of the said Act) for the supply of water for the use of the inhabitants of the Borough, and for extending and enlarging the present "waterworks" (as above defined) pf the said Borough/ and for purchasing and acquiring lands or rights or easements in connection! with such construction, extension, or enlargement, and for any purpose incidental or in relation to any of the above purposes. AND that the Council establish a Sinking Fund during the currency of the Loan for or towards payment of such loan at its maturity of an amount representing £ pier cent, of the amount for the time being of the said Loan actually borrowed and do, permanently apipropriate and pledge a Special Rate of Is 6d in the pound u.p,on rll rateable property in the Borough as security for such Loan and In-tarest and for the puinpose of. providing such interest and fund; AND that Debentures be issued for such Loan in accordance with the rv,rovisions of "The Municipal Corporations Act, 1900," each to be mvable on the Ist day of November, 1914, AND that the first year's interest on such ijoan be paid out of such; Loan. .
