MR R. E. BECKETT'S STOCK REPORT.
Mr R. E. Beckett reports: —
During the week I have held sales at Marton and Huntervilte. At both places the yards were well filled with sheep and cattle. The attendance was good, and bidding fairly brisk'for. cattle and somewhat dull for slieetp. Business on tire whole was fairly good. At Hutartierville beef was keenly competed for and brought extreme values. I quote: — At Marton.—Cattle: Fat kulocks £7 10s, fat cows £6, springing heifers £4 12s 6d to £5 Bs,~ springing cows £6. .yearling steers £2-ss. Sheep: Ewes and lambs 6a. mixed hoggets 6s 6d to Bs, fat ewes 11s 7d to 17s 7d. forward ewes 6s 6d to 9s.
At Hunterville.—Cattle: Fat buTtocks £9 16s, fat cows £6 12s to £10 3s 6d, 2i to 3-year steers £6 4s to £6 ss, 2-year steers £5, heifers in calf (small) £3 12s 6d to £4 ss, empty heifers £3 2s to £3 12s. 18-months steers £3 15s. Sheep: 2-tooth wethers 10* 7d to 11s 4d, mixed hogcrete 7s 7d to 8s Bd. ewes and lambs 8s 6d, fat ewes 13s to 14s.
