Sale of Work.
The -s'afl.« of work heldl in St. Paul's Hall yesterday by St. Paul's Young; Women's Guild proved successful beyond the most sanguine expectations. Th© stalls were five in number, and each was heavily laden with beautiful work. Despite the anwount of goods offered, the attendance of the public was so large and the demand so great that before the afternoon sale closed) the stalls were beginning to present a somewhat bare appearance. In the evening there was another large attendance and business was again very brisk. During the evening Armstrong's orchestra rendered1 tuneful selections, and various competitions were held. The ladies of the Guild are to be heartily con-, gratulated on their achievements, as they will be enabled to forward to the Ichang mission the substantial sum of £78. The following wene the stall-holders: — Chinese Stall.—Misses" Austin, Treadwell, Currie, S. Blythe, McKelar, Inkster and Brechin.
Flower Stall.—Misses Tucker (2), Beavis, Patterson, Currie, and Caiman. Work 'Stall (plain and fancy).—Misses Bayly, Young, Jardine, Keen, and Bridge. Toffee Stall.—Masses A. Barr, Pitt, and Robert?.
Refreshments.—Misses B. Blythe, Bell, Kers'ley, Parkes (2), E. Bayly, Caiman, and Coombes.
