Oats. —During tne past wesk. there has been moderate inquiry for shipping linos, and fair business has been d~n», in lines bright enough to be included in B and G grade quality. For twer grade oat" then -was not much demand, except from local buyers, and as only a small quantity can be" placed in this direction there'is still fj fair quantity of medium quality oats'on offer. Quotations: Seed lines 2s 7d to 2s 3ld; prime milling 2s 6£d to 2s 7^d, good to best feed 2s 4£d to 2s 6d. infeiior to medium 2s to 2s 4d per bushel (sacks ex tra). Wl eat —Millers' operations are confined to choice quality, principally northern lines. Medium quality, which had some inquiry last week, received little attention. Quotations : Prime milling 4s to 4s 4d. medium 3s 4d to 3s lOd, best whole fowl wheat 3j Id to 3a 3d. broken and damaged 2s 6d 8d to 3s per bushel (sacks extra). Barley.—A few sales of prime quality have been made on a par with late quotations. The demand, however, is extremely Ijimited, and nothing like large quantities can be readily placed. Quotations for mill ing and feed qualities are practically unchanged. Quotations: Prime malting 3r 3d tc 3s 9d ; milling 3s to 3s 2d; feed 2? 8d to 3s per bushel (sacks evtra). Potatoes. —A considerable ex-port tradf has been done from northern ports at price? considerably in advance of late quotations. Although the export trade from this porthas not been great, the northern sales have tended to firm the market .considerably, an<? r-vima Derwents are readily placed to-day at £4 5s to £4 10s per ton; choice to £A 12s 6d ; medium £3 15s to £4 ; kidneys and other sorts. £3 to £3 15s -pier ton (bag.* in). Chaff.—There is a dearth of prime oaten sheaf, and any consignments ©f this art readily snapped up. Medium quality v fairly plentiful, but not in favour with buyers. Quotations: Prime oaten, sheaf, £4 10s to £5; medium to good. £3 10s tc £4: inferior and straw chaff,. £2 to £2 15? per ton (bags extra).
Turnips.—A moderate supply, and prices firm at lata values, say 17s to 19s per ton, loose, ex-truck.
