AUCKLAND
The local potato market has been easier this week. Several cargoes have arrived from the south, and supplies of locally grown are declining. Quotation, southern, £5 10s to £5 15s. Onions are in fair de> mand, locally grown being quoted at £11 6s to £12 6s; Californian £14 per ton ; supplies moderate Chaff is very scarce and in strong demand at £5 10s to £5 ss. Maize is short in supply, with an increased, local demand. Quotation: 3s 6d wholesale. Tho wheat market is firm with an upward tendency; fowl wheat is meeting with poor inquiry. Bran has declined 5? per ton; quotation. £6. Sharps are in good demand at £6 10s. Butter shows re alteration in price; but esr<rs, tho.if*h a good supply, have advanced one penny per dozen to 9d wholesale.
