Co., 3|d; other North Island mutton. 3£d. The lamb market is weak. Average trices to-day for New Zealand lamb : Can terbury brand, 4§d; other than Canterbury. *4£d. There is a better demand for beef. IS; ew Zealand hinds: 4£d, fores 4d. The butter market is rising. Danisb 116s.
The cheese market is firm. Price 07 cheese to-day, 49s per cwt. The hemp; market is steady. Prices. o5 hemp: Good fair Wellington grade, on spot to-day, £33; October-December ship ments, £31 10s. The cocksfoot seed market is firm. New Zealand 171b. standard, 535. There are signs of improvement in the cocksfoot seed market.
Wool is brisk
