WANGANUI RIFLES.

•The Wanganui Rifles fired their fourth competition for Morris-tube trophies and ammunition prizes on Thursday and Saturday last; conditions, seven shots at a vanishing target at a range equal to 100 yards; ihits on the painted figure count two points. The following are the leading scores : —

CLASS A (All scratch)

*Ammuition prizes. The final competition (fixed tar,get) is to be fired on October 2nd and 4th. The social to the returned troopers prevents any shooting this week, as the Drill Hall will be engaged from Thursday to Saturday.

The fol'-towing are the leading aggregates with one competition to ■ fire ; parade points ta date have been added : —

Class A.—Sergeants Scott and Bolton 109 each, Sergeant Forder 107, Lieutenant Hogan 106; Volunteer Anderson 102, Color-Sergeant Purser 101. Class B—Volunteers Pleasaaite 106, Ellis, G. Brown, R. Brown, and J. Harrision 103 each; Volunteers Bennett and Smithies, 100 eacih.

The possible score in each class is 111
