Friday's, earthquake shocks were very severe at Warooka, on York's Peninsula, though the damage to property was not extensive .outside the Tronbridge ligfabhouse, which will involve an outlay of £5000. Careful observers state the shock ■lasted a minute to a minute and a half, accompamied by loud explosions, with choking sulphurous discharges.
Scores of women went into hysterics, and many fainted. One woman died of heart diseasie, accelerated by fright over the shocks.
Received September 22, 9.15 a.m. MELBOURNE, September 22. Shoioks were experienced' afc Nhill, Casterton, and Servieeton on Friday night.
