De Wet, speaking at the pro-Boer Committee's^ reception at Antwerp, said the Boers were willing to be Ted, but would not be driven like a herd of cattle. If anyone tried to drive them too much possibly tlhe result would be a catastrophe to South Africa..

Botiha delivered a lecture at Antwerp. He simply appealed for generosity on behalf of distressed Boers.

In Parliament, David Dewaal, member for Picquelberg1, resumed the debate on Merrjaman/s motion condemning the suspension of the Constitution. He said that in England, whence he returned, he thought all was peace at the Cape, but he found the House discussing this motion. He counselled members to leave Lord Milner alone. TSTjo British Ministry would recall Lord Milner.
