Twenty Years IN WINDY WELLINGTON. Th© C&S» of Mrs. S. M. GARBES. (by a special bepokebb.) Having been in business in Cuba-street for twenty years, Mrs. Sarah Moraiti Garbes, ■who is now living at 12 Knigg Avenue, Wellington, is jvidely known and generally respected. To a reporter who recently called at the above adddrees, Mrs. Garbes said :— # • " Your visit has saved me the trouble of writing, which I certainly intended doing. Yes; you may know all about my illness, which was very distressing whilst it lasted." 11 In what way were you affected ?" "I could not eat my food at all well. Agonising darting pains came between my shoulders and in my stomach. Terrible sick headaches attacked me, frequently being so bad that I could not raise my head up the whole day long. After walking about a little distance I felt fatigued and giddy. At night I was very restless in bed, brief periods of sleep at long intervals always being attended with dreadful dreams. During the day I felt drowsy and despondent, as though I had nothing to live for. I had a continual bad taste and a coated tongue. My eyes felt heavy and swollen, and sometimes felt as though they were burning within. My complaint got worse as time went on. Soon I was prostrated with weakness." " What were you takiDg for your ailments?" • © "I tried everything that was recommended by my friends ; but I only got worse. Each medicine I gave about a mouthY trial, all to no purpose. At last I struck 1 the right thing. A book was placed in my hand one day by one who thought I might read it with advantage to myself. Aftei reading several testimonials about people , having been cured of various complaints by Clements Tonic, I thought it must be a good thing. I bought some, and felt that I had a chance of regaining my health after several doses. Clements Tonic stopped my tormenting headaches very quickly, besides making me sleep soundly. My appetite ' came back, and in a week or so I had no signs of indigestion. The pains departed from my shoulders, and I felt better and brighter in every way. Clements Tone met all the requirements of my enfeebled constitution, which was built up to perfection. I vent about my duties with at much strength and activity as ever, aim" from the day that Clements Tonic cured instill now I have enjoyed the best of robust health. If anybody ia our family feels r trifle indisposed we always fly to Clemer.> Tonic We have reason to rely upon it t» confidently." @ " Do you mind telling me why so ?" "Not at all. lam only too thankful t< be able to say that my eldest daughter 5 ' life was saved by Clements Tonic. She \v<f suffering from typhoid fever, three doctor; having been in attendance. My daughter had one foot in the grave. The doctoi' said there was no hope for her. Tlr verdict was pronounced one Sunday mom I ing, and we were all in a terrible state f anguish.* My husband and I did not knov what to do ; Wut it occurred to me what < remarkable recovery I had made throug! Clements Tonic. Against my husbam}!» wish I gave her a dose of Clement. Tonic st she lay unconscious. In an hour's time 1 thought she looked a little brighter, and a» hour later I gave her another dose. She gradually improved, so I put the doctor's medicine aside altogether. A medical rpas came next day, and on catching sight of :nj girl he stood in amazement on the threshold lof the door, saying, ' Well, well, that girl I Btill alive ! I thought I was coming to sot her laid out. Whatever have you give* her?' I did not tell him; but kept o: giving Clements Tonic without his kno« ledge. A week later we carried her dowi stairs, and three days afterwards we toot her out driving. Thus my daughter cos | tinued to advance till she was ma<!e soun<! and strong by Clements Tonic.
