PACKET AND OTHER LICENSES.
To the Editor
Sir, —It is useless for Mr Hatrick to ti-y and poison the mind of the public in regard to our popular, very useful, and most estimable District Judge, L. 0. Kettle, Esq. The public are not all fools; they are •well able to judge of the character, merits, or demerits of both Judao Kettle and A. Hatrick, Esq. Mr Kettle is an honest and fearless well-doer, a gentleman -who has done more good for the community as a whole than any other man or men. However, the liquor dealers may rest assured that the respectable portion of the community are thoroughly satisfied with the nresent chairman and members of the Licensing Committee, and will resent any attempt of those engaged in the liouor traffic to oust any of these eentlemen by bringing in Prohibition. The liquor dealers will have but themselves to blame if this should come to pass. We are not goinf to be bossed and governed by a handful of liquor dealers.—l ant. etc., A MODERATE MAN.
