PROGRESSIVE CAPE MEMBERS INDIGNANT.

CAPETOWN, September 17. The Progressive members of Parliament are indignant at Sr Gordon Sprigg's refusal to. introduce a special Bill dealing with arms, or a measure against treason, sedition, and boycotting. Received September 18, 10.51 p.m. CAPETOWN, September 18. The Peace Preservation Act is gazetted. The debate on Merriman's resolution denouncing the suspension of the> Constitution was resumed in Parliament. Graaff, one of the Bond members, -thanked Mr Chamberlain for his attitude of reconciliation, and added that Sir G. Sprigg had the newspapers and capitalists against him. He had behaved as a. great Englishman and upheld British traditions.

Saver rejoiced that a new era was dawning, moderate Dutchmen and moderate Englishmen combining to put extremists in their proper place.
