A STEAMER ASHORE.
Received September 18, 1.4 a.m. BRISBANE, September 17. During the demie .smoke from1 bush fires the steamer Duke of Sutherland stranded on a. reef at Lizard Island on Friday. A boat's crew came to Cooktowni and re!lported that the vessel lies a hundred feet on the reef, a.nd is making water in the forehold. Steamers have been sent to her assistance.
