Per Press Association. NAPIER, September 15. . The Chief Justice to-day granted a divorce in the case Frank Ormond v. Mary Ormond, husband's petition. The case was heard in camera. In the Divorce Court, in the case of (Emily Annie Hannan v. John Joseph Hannan, wife's petition, on the ground of desertion, a decree nisi was granted, to be made absolute at the ©nd of three months.

• In the Supreme Ctourt today, in the civil action Beaumont v. Neal and Close, a claim for £200 as damages for trespass-. The trespass was admitted, the defence being that it was of a purely technical character and necesfsary for the carrying out of certain woi'k. The jury returned1 a verdict for plaintiff for £70, with costs as per scale. DUNEDIN, September 15. A sitting of the Criminal Court-was held to-day to re-hear tka charge against William Frederick Lowry of assaulting Maggie Isabella Barr with intent to commit a crime on July 26tb.
