, MASTERTON, September 15. On Sunday evening, Avhilst returning from the service at Taueru, the Rev. W. Earee., of St. MattheAv's, met Avith a serious accident. Near the Taueru Sawmill the Avhee.« and axle of his. buggy became detached fiom the body. The horse bolted, carrying Mr Earee in sleigh fashion for some distance at great risk of going over into a steep gu'ly. Fortunately lie pulled, up Avithout further injury than a severe shaking. A heavy thunderstorm and downpour occurred to-day over the district. There was a Siharp hailstorm at Eketahuna. The severe weather lately has caused much mortality among the young lambs. . A footballer named Moore, of St. Patrick's College, broke his shoulder-bone on Saturday in the match against Masterton.
