LIVE STOCK SALES.

CHRISTCHURCH. At Addington there were small entries. A Sydney buyer for fat stock who was expected, did not get to the sale, owing to the late arrivall of the steamer from Wellington.

Fat Cattle—lss, mostly prime steers and cows. There was a good demand for both, and an advance in prices. Best beef, 27s to 30s, and up to 32s 6d for extra prime; others 24s to 26s 1001b; prime bullocks £12 to £14 10s.; good steers, £9 to £11 10s; lighter, £6 12s 6d to £8 10s; heifers, £6 12s 6d to £9 ; prime cows, £8 to £10, and up to £11 lss 6d for extra good, others £5 10s to £7 10s.

Store Cattle—3oo, mostly good two and three-year-olds. Calves, 18s; yearlings, £1 6s to £1 9s 6d; 15 to 18-months, £2 to £3 15s; two-year steers, £4 7s. 6d to £5 3s, do., heifers, £4; 3-year steers, £6 to £6 10s to 7; dry cows, £1 10s to £5.

Fat Sheepi—About 3000 very mixed. There were no Sydney buyersl, and heavy sLeep were * easier. Although freezing 1- yers were not operating, prices were kept up by local trade requirements. Good ewes and prime merino wethers also sold well. Prime heavy wethers, 21s to 275; freezing quality, 18s to 20s; lighter, 18s to 17s 6d; best ewes, 17s 6d to 21s 6d others', 13s 9d to 16s 6d ; extra prime merino wethers, 18s lid to 20s 7d; good, 15s- 7d to 16s 9d; others, 8s 9d to 12s Id. Fat Lambs and Hoggets.—A dozen sprin Fatl Lambs and Hoggets—A dbzen spring lambs made lls 9d to. 17s 3d; 220 hoggets were mostly taken for export at 10s 8d to 13s, and up to 15s for extra good. Store Sheep—2llo, mostly ewes in lamb and hoggets. No business was dome in wethers or ewes., but hoggets sold weH at 10s 4d to 12,* Bd. Pigs— 500, a mixed entry. Baconers were easier, porker.* poor, and stores showed an advance, nearly 200 being taken by a southern buyer. Baconers, 36s to 52.5, up to 555, equal to 4d per lb; porkers, 20a to 345, equal to 4sd to 5d per lb; largu stores, 20s to 275; smaller, 12s to 18s j snxkers and weaneirs, 3s 6d to Bs.
