It is notified by advertisement in another column that the third term con> at the Wellington College on Monday, Bth September. Mr. Heine will see parents and guardians at the College on Saturday, 6th September, between the liofurs o£ 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. We have no doubt visitors to Wanganui and tho puiblic generally will be delighted to know that Messrs. George and Kersley have just opened up their first shipment of new season's novelties, including millinery, costumes, skirts, ready-to-wear blouses, muslins, delaines, Silks, dress goods, gent's Panama hats, etc. Messrs. George and Kersley cordially invite the public to visit their warehouse and see these goods.

To-morrow morning at 7 o'clock Messrs. Hatrick and Co.'s fine favourite steamer Wairere will make the usual grand excursion to Pipiriki, returning the following day. . Messrs. Freeman R. Jackson and Co. will hold a sale of r&cehjoiises on Saturday next at 11 a.m. in their St. Hill Street yards, when they will offer, on account or Dr. Paget (who is leaving the colony), his well known horses, Dick Turpin, Clarion, Romany Lad, and King Edward. The approach of summer is the signal for increased activity amongst our tradespeople. Melbourne House with its coat of blue is to the fore. Mr J. J. Buckrell advertises great attractions in his tailoring and dress departments. A splendid assortment of all ladies' requisites is now opened, as well as a qrrand selection of tweeds, straw hats, ties, etc. The firm ■have an enviable reputation, especially for manufacturing, and invite inspection throughout.
