At Addington there were large entries of all kinds of stock.

Fut Cattle—l9B, mostly useful steers and heifers, with a few extra prime. Bidding was not quite so bri?k as last week, but prices were well maintained. Prime beef, 26s to 50s, others 22s to 25s per lOOlbs, heavy steers £10 to £13; others £6 2s 6d to £8 10s, prime heifers £9 to £11 15s, others £5 12s 6d to £8 10s, cows £5 to £3 7s 6d.

Storo Cattle —A mixed entry and a fair sale. Yearlings 27s to 33s 6d, 15 and 18- ---■ months £2 to £2 18s, 2-year steers £4 2s 6d to £5 6s, heifers £4 to £4 15s. Thirtyfive 3-year-old steers from Kaikoura made £6 14s and heifers: £6 15s, dry cows 32s 6d to £4 2s 6d, dairy cows, best, £7 to £10. others £3 10s to £6 10s, Fat VSheep-rAbout 6500, including a few prime heavy-weights and several coarse and badly-finished freezing lines from the South. Ewes were rather scare©. The market for heavy-weights was easier, there being no buyers for Sydney, and freezing buyers did not appear anxious to operate. Ewes, however, showed improvement. Prime heavy wethers 21s to 2j9s, freezing wethers 15s 6d to 193 6di, light wethers 14s to 15s, prime heavy 17s to 19s 6d, others 15s to 16s 6d, prime merino wetlhers 17s to 20s 6d, others lla 6d to 13s 9d. Fat Hoggets and Lambs —Forty spring lairubs made 14s to 16s 9d for good, to 8s 6d to lls- for small; 350 hoggets, mostly bought for freezing, at 10s 9d to 15s. Store Sheep—3Bßl, mostly hoggets, with 685 wethers and ewes, which were passed at 11s 6d. The demand was scarcely so keen as last week, and many were passed, but prices Avere mostly maintained. Forward wethers mads 13s 4d to 14s 3d, others 11s 7d to 12s Bd, good you^~ ewes 12s to 15s 3d, aged 3s to 8s lid, hoggets 7s 9d to 11s Id. Piers—s36. Competition was entirely in the hands of the local trade, and prices were free all round. BaconeTS 40s to 55s to 62s for extra heavy, equal to 4d to 44d per 1b; porkers, 25s to 365. equal to 4^d to scl per xo; la-Ttea stores 18s to 235. smaller 12s to 17s 6d. suckers and weaners 5s to 10s.
