THE BROWN-TEARE CASE.

JUDGMENT FOR DEFENDANT. WELLINGTON, September 2. The Supreme Court sat to-night in order to finish the case Brown v. Teare, a claim for £2000 brought by an ex-convict agaanst the gaol surgeon for alleged improper treatment. The jury, after twenty minutes', retirement, returned a verdict m favour of the defendant. Judgment was entered accordingly, with costs according to scale.
